Developed by Dennis Publishing (the company that owns Know Your Mobile, in case you were interested), the latest Viz app is packed full of ‘degenerate definitions’, to quote the popular comic magazine.

In fact, there are over 12,000 of them, in all their uncensored glory, making it likely to provide rather a lot of entertainment.

To make browsing through its extensive library of profanities easy, you can search for specific ones by name or category and then save the best for later browsing. Better still, you can check out the world’s favourite choices.

There’s also some good-old social networking to sink your teeth into in the form of spreading jokes via the wonders of email, Facebook and Twitter.

Alex Watson, head of app development at the Dennis Publishing’s Media Factory, told Know Your Mobile: ‘The all new Profanisaurus app has been completely rebuilt by our internal team, with a brand new design and every single definition, uncensored, from the best selling Das Krapital book.

‘Elegant isn’t a word that’s actually in the Profanisaurus but it’s entirely apt here. The app’s brilliant design allows you to fill dull moments with funny profanities from the crudest mag in the business, or to search and quickly grab just the right word – and then easily post it to Facebook and Twitter.’

For those less clued-up on the world of Viz, the app uses cross-referencing, as Watson explained: ‘The entries are cross-linked so that next time your mate complains about a magician’s hankie, you’ll know just what he’s on about.’

Viz Profanisaurus costs £1.49, which is a bit of a steal considering the paper version costs nearly three times as much. And it won’t tweet jokes to your friends, either.

You can download it on the App Store and Android Market. A Symbian Nokia version is ‘coming soon’.
