MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has partnered with the Gokongwei family's Robinsons Malls to launch its new service improvement program involving the establishment of Driver’s License Renewal Offices (DLROs) around the country.

Tips:

• Bring your expired LTO driver's license card & 2016/2017 official receipt stamped with 'Valid Temporary Driver's License'.

• All 10 fingers on both hands will be biometrically recorded to the card & LTO's database similar to when you apply for a US, Japan or UK travel visa. Bring alcogel to sanitize with after.

• Know your blood type so they can print it on the card. Useful when the paramedics need to give you an emergency blood transfusion.

• You will be asked whether you want to donate organs when you die.

• Arrive 2 hours before opening so you are customer #1.

• If you are renewing with a senior citizen, PWD or pregnant female then go with them to jump the line with them. Use the reason that you are accompanying them.

• I arrived 15 mins after opening and I was customer #69 and had to wait 4 hours before I was photographed (again) & received my card on the spot. They allow people waiting that long to come back and jump the line within the day if you missed your spot.

• Do not worry about your appearance, the photo on the card is 1cm^2, low resolution, black & white image.

• New cards are now valid for 5 years instead of 3.
